The Fanfare is a colourful and socially engaged Amsterdam ‘street orchestra’ with around twenty members playing a wide range of wind and percussion instruments. For almost 40 years the Fanfare has been a creating a musical party wherever we go, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
A welcome guest at festivals, concerts and celebrations, we’ve made our subtle yet intense presence felt around the world - from Brittany to Slovenia, from Cuba to Turkey, from climate actions at Schiphol Airport to protests in the occupied Palestinian West Bank.
The Fanfare is flexible. We can set up quickly and easily almost anywhere. No messing around with mikes and leads: we play indoors and outdoors without amplification. We play our varied and exciting repertoire walking on the street, among our dancing audience or on stage. From canal barge to theatre, from street corner to studio, from Ferris wheel to swimming pool, the Fanfare plays where you want and makes a party of it!
